Meet the 2015 Leader Award Winners

On October 22nd, 2015 the Minnesota Waste Wise Foundation hosted its annual meeting at the Minneapolis Marriot Northwest Hotel. Two organizations were presented with the 2015 Minnesota Waste Wise Foundation Leader Award. They are as follows:

From 2009 to 2014, Boston Scientific’s Twin Cities operation achieved the following results:

  • Solid waste reduction of 266 tons
  • 24% increase in recycling
  • Cumulative cost savings of $233,049

Globally, the company has:

  • Decreased energy use by 56,000,000 kWh
  • Increased renewable energy by 31,000,000 kWh
  • Increased the number of zero-landfill waste sites from five to nine

In 2014, Park Nicollet Health Services saved an estimated:

  • 6,334,528 kBtu’s of energy
  • 8,946,946 gallons of water
  • 662.62 tons of waste from entering a landfill or incinerator
  • $1,107,876 in operating costs
